Parents of students riding any regular yellow school bus operated by 鶹ӳ (鶹ӳ) can receive real-time email notifications when their child's school bus is canceled or delayed by 10 minutes or more. Here's how to enroll and use the notification system:

  1. Enrollment Process:

    • Click on the School Bus Monitor link provided.
    • Select the option to receive email alerts.
    • Fill in the required information including your email address, confirm the email address, select "PBL" as the Carrier, and agree to the terms.
    • Click "proceed" to continue.
  2. Choosing Bus Routes:

    • Once enrolled, you can choose your child's school and add the specific bus routes they use.
    • This customization ensures you receive alerts pertinent to your child's particular bus routes.
  3. Monitoring Intent:

    • The monitoring system aims to keep parents informed about their child’s bus status in real-time.
    • If you registered for the service and did not receive a notification when you expected one, it may be because the bus delay was within the initial 10-minute window.
    • Prairie Bus Lines, responsible for the system, endeavors to relay information promptly, but there may be a slight delay as updates flow from the driver to dispatch and then into the system.
  4. System Control and Use:

    • Please ensure you select 鶹ӳ specifically when searching or setting up your alerts within the system.
    • The link and system are managed by Prairie Bus Lines and serve multiple school divisions. Ensure accuracy by choosing 鶹ӳ in your search criteria.

School Messenger Notification for Late Buses:

鶹ӳ (鶹ӳ) transportation utilizes school messenger communication to inform parents about late buses. Here’s how you can stay informed:

  1. School Messenger Alerts:

    • 鶹ӳ sends out messages via School Messenger to notify parents about late buses.
    • Notifications are typically sent via email and phone call to the contact information stored in Powerschool.
    • Parents have the option to receive text messages as well.
  2. Definition of a Late Bus:

    • A bus is considered late if it is delayed by 10 minutes or more beyond its scheduled time.
  3. Opt-in for Text Messages:

    • To receive text message notifications, parents must opt in by texting "Y" or "yes" to 978338, which is the district code.
    • Upon texting, you will receive a confirmation that you are now registered to receive messages.
    • It’s important to note that standard text messaging rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
    • You can opt out of receiving these messages at any time by replying "stop" to one of the messages received.
